Afloat at Sea

Afloat as Sea

Too devout to a form or an idea of perfection of living, will one only find that their voyage to such reality is forever lost like a shipwreck at sea

Annihilating and isolating
I am incapable of loving
In a way I was unable to
surrender my independence
Despite how you only wanted
to be the steady current to bring
me to shore

To know me is to have known
endlessnessness, a kind that is
demoralizing and painful
Ignore my words and grave
warnings and follow suit to
your demise as do I

Process

Through a mindful breathing technique, I took to thoughts I had as a prompt and narrowed down my poem through Google Docs.
