I wasn’t worrying about tomorrow’s test or what drama was happening in my friend group. I wasn’t thinking about the list of things I needed to do or my plans for the rest of the week. I was just peeling an orange, and time slowed down.
My inspiration for this work came from peeling a grapefruit at 2 A.M. I was exhausted and, in a seemingly random move with little thought, just sat down and started to peel. After, I was overcome with a wave of relief and calm. Out of curiosity, I decided to investigate this process more, and stumbled upon orange meditation. I ultimately decided to bring this to a podcast format because I wanted to try something new, and it was a really fun experience working on this with my friend.
