"whispers of prague: musings by the vltava"
in prague’s winter hush, a silent ballet unfolds,
as swans glide gracefully on rivers of gold.
moonlight bathes the city in a soft, silver glow,
casting shadows that dance with secrets we know.
underneath the yellow street lamps' gentle hum,
i ponder the mysteries of life, where we've come.
in the stillness of night, in nature's embrace,
i find solace and wisdom in this quiet space.
each swan a symbol of grace and of might,
navigating waters, a beacon in the night.
their journey mirrors mine, a quest to find,
meaning in moments, in the depths of the mind.
as the moonlight weaves tales of love and of loss,
i embrace the beauty of life, its tempests and gloss.
for in prague’s winter silence, I come to see,
the interconnectedness of nature, of you, and of me.
"parisian reverie: a love letter to the ave of camoens”
in paris, where the lights softly gleam,
and the eiffel tower stands tall in a dream,
i find myself lost in a world of art,
where creativity and passion impart.
through quiet streets, i wander alone,
in the gentle rain, i find my home.
books and laughter fill the air,
molière's wit, beyond compare.
in montmartre's embrace, i am free,
among artists and poets, i see
the beauty of expression unfurled,
in every stroke, in every word.
the rain whispers secrets untold,
of renewal and stories yet to unfold.
in paris, i find myself anew,
in the love of art and skies of blue.
this city of light, this city of dreams,
where the soul finds solace, it seems.
in paris, I discover the artist in me,
and in its embrace, i am truly free.
“echoes of rebellion: berlin’s creative pulse”
in berlin's streets, where history breathes,
graffiti whispers tales of rebels and thieves.
on the wall, bold strokes tell stories untold,
of freedom sought and truths bold.
amidst the chaos, i find my voice,
in the riot of colors, i make my choice.
to paint my dreams on life's canvas wide,
and let my spirit soar, no longer to hide.
music pulses through the city's veins,
a rhythm that echoes through joy and pains.
in its melody, i find release,
a symphony of self, a moment of peace.
berlin, a sanctuary for the creative soul,
where passion ignites and dreams take control.
in its embrace, i find my muse,
and in its chaos, i find my truth to choose.
for in the rebellious graffiti's sprawl,
i see reflections of myself, standing tall.
a rebel with a cause, a dreamer at heart,
in berlin's embrace, i find my art.
These poems were born from the late-night walks and study abroad experiences that filled my days with wonder and introspection. Carrying nothing but a pen and a small notebook, I would often roam the cobblestone streets of Paris, Prague and Berlin, soaking in the sights and sounds that surrounded me. As I observed the silent beauty of Prague’s winter or the rebellious spirit of Berlin, I found myself compelled to capture these moments in verse.
Each poem serves as a snapshot of my travels, a reflection of the emotions that were invoked by the beauty, history, and complexity of Europe’s cultural tapestry. Along the way, I learned to see the world through the eyes of an artist, finding inspiration in the most minute details and embracing the transformative power of self-discovery through art and travel.
