Storytime

By Jo Rosado

This podcast is for those who like fairytales and myths and all types of stories being explained. Many people have heard of the animated movie Anastasia, based off of the Russian princess, but many people do not know that instead of getting married in the end as depicted in the movie, the real Anastasia passed away as a young child. “Storytime” will uncover mysteries and answer questions about stories from A to Z.

Process

The idea came from a week of binge-watching cold case files on Netflix. The application I used was Anchor. Anchor taught me how to record a podcast and put background music to it, which I thought was really cool. When I completed the project, I felt very tech-savvy and super smart.

Meet the Pair

MENTEE JO ROSADO & MENTOR REGAN WINTER

Jo’s Anecdote: My relationship with my mentor is pretty good. Whenever we would meet up at Starbucks or the library it would always be chill and fun. We would crack some jokes and talk about stuff that’s happening in our lives. She always makes me feel comfortable, and like I can trust her with just about anything. I am so glad I got to participate in this program with her.

Regan’s Anecdote: In one of our first meetings, Jo told me about a recent experience she had with catcalling, and about how that experience made her feel. She wanted to write a poem about it to express her own emotions, and the emotions that all women who have experienced catcalling might have felt. Through brainstorming, we were able to relate this occurrence with the trials women have endured throughout history. Jo was able to write a truly poignant and powerful piece that I was proud to see her share with her family, friends, and teachers.
