In this community studio, participants will explore nature journaling as a practice for wellness, reflection, and self-discovery. Whether you live in the city, suburbs, or countryside—and whether you consider yourself a writer or not—you’ll learn how to observe the natural world closely and use writing to process emotions, find calm, and connect with something larger than yourself. Through guided observation, reflective prompts, and creative writing, you’ll discover that nature journaling isn’t about making perfect art; it’s about training your attention, slowing down your mind, and using what you notice outside to understand what’s happening inside. Inspired by the work of poet Mary Oliver and rooted in the understanding that nature connection supports mental wellness, this studio invites you to build a personalized journaling practice you can carry forward into your life.
In this session, we will deepen the connection between observation and emotional processing, showing how noticing external details can clarify internal feelings. We’ll also address the mental health benefits of this approach, including grounding, reduced stress, and clearer emotional understanding.
