Counts towards monthly Community Studio requirement for mentees and mentors!
Girls Write Now’s award-winning anthology doesn’t write itself! Learn how this annual book is made, from devising a tight production schedule, to editing in Chicago Style, to securing author blurbs. Then consider applying to join us on the 2024 Print Committee! Special guests include authors, mentors, mentees, and publishing veterans Carol Paik, Mariah Dwyer, and Sophia Torres.
Carol Paik is a writer and textile artist living in NYC and Pound Ridge, NY. She was a GWN mentor, and is pleased and proud to report that her mentee, Shania Russell, is now a Staff Writer for Entertainment Weekly. Carol has also served on the editorial committee for the Girls Write Now Anthology for many years.
Sophia Torres is an aspiring writer, rock music addict and film lover. She can write backwards and is excited for this year at Girls Write Now.
Mariah Dwyer is a Girls Write Now mentee alum and a member co-chair of the Editorial Committee for the Print Anthology. She previously worked as a Publicist at Little, Brown and Company and Fortier Public Relations.
Each year, Girls Write Now community members come together to support the production of our annual award-winning anthology. The Print Anthology Committee is responsible for editing individual pieces, attending regular meetings, securing author blurbs, and supporting the release of the book. Our annual anthology is published by Dutton Books and features mentee writing across genre, providing a vital glimpse into the lives of today’s next-gen leaders and storytellers.
Print Anthology Committee will meet monthly during the 2023-2024 Girls Write Now Collaboratory. Mentors, mentees, alumni, and members of the public are welcome to attend our meetings.
