Kara and I explored the shared experiences that loosely weave our stories together while tracing social expectations that attempted to shape our mothers’ and grandmothers’ lives. We wove them together and created a visual representation that used skills learned throughout the program. We had fun making this, and hope you enjoy it!
Given the current debate over a woman’s right to choose in America, we asked 7 women between the ages of 21-26 these two questions: (1) What would a world where women across America lose their right to choose look like? (2) What gives you hope about this issue?
We wanted to present our generational stories to look for connections across various women’s experiences throughout time. We compared the expectations our society imposed on women in our families, including traditions, female stereotypes, and norms.
