The New York Times featured the book launch of Girls Write Now: Two Decades of True Stories from Young Female Voices (Tin House), held at Books Are Magic, in its guide to upcoming cultural events in New York City for children and teenagers. “Over the past year, more female voices have been making themselves heard in realms both political and personal. That’s true of adolescents as well as adults, and this free event in Brooklyn will honor the publication of an anthology of work from an organization that has long helped teenage girls express themselves….The program, to be led by the best-selling author Emma Straub, will feature four of the book’s contributors reading their work and discussing writing and womanhood.”
