Writer and poet, Jenny Zhang and head of WME’s Worldwide Literary, Lectures, and Conference division Jennifer Rudolph Walsh were featured speakers in our June CHAPTERS. - RACHEL COHEN is a Girls Write Now mentor alumna. She has worked in journalism her entire career, though her current job’s a bit different from her former reporter role: She’s now a software engineer for The Wall Street Journal building tools for the newsroom. Previously, she was a sports writer for more than 16 years, most recently with The Associated Press at its NYC headquarters for nearly a decade. This is her eighth year volunteering with Girls Write Now, which includes a pair of two-year mentoring stints sandwiched around three years as mentee enrollment chair on the Program Advisory Committee.
- LASHANDA ANAKWAH is a Girls Write Now mentee alumna, editorial assistant at Simon and Schuster, and a Bronx native. You can find her lost in a book or browsing through Netflix. She is a Scholastic Art & Writing Award Scholarship winner and graduated from Ithaca College. Fun fact: Lashanda and Rachel happen to work across the street and often have lunch together.
