Girls Write Now Internship Program
This paid, part-time virtual position, is open only to Girls Write Now mentee alumni, ages 18-25, with availability of 8-10 hours/week. Some weekday evenings and Saturday hours are required.

Internship Program Summary
Do you enjoy Girls Write Now workshops and events? Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes? This internship is your opportunity to contribute your ideas and watch them come to life. We offer the chance to grow your editorial, marketing and production skills by getting hands on experience shaping digital content, curriculum and bringing our community together under one mission- to train the next generation of writers and leaders for life, impacting industries and inspiring change. Interns will have the opportunity to work in various departments within the organization, including marketing, programming, community engagement and graphic design.
The Girls Write Now Internship Program allows students to unlock their potential by contributing to Girls Write Now initiatives and projects, making decisions for yourself and contributing to our shared mission. Supported by all levels of the organization, you’ll gain universally applicable skills and build your confidence that are needed to be leaders in not only the publishing or entertainment industry, but in any pathway or career of your choice! To thrive as an Girls Write Now intern, you are ready to bring your passion for writing, education. digital media and the arts along with your desire to learn and grow each day.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Attend staff planning meetings to understand the goals and deliverables of specific workshops, marketing campaigns and community engagement events.
- Assist in the production of workshops and events. (Some evenings and Saturdays required.)
- Engage with lesson content, collaborate with staff to outline and design innovative solutions to deliver learning objectives into a human-centered, goal-oriented learning experience.
- Create art/media to accompany lesson content for a digital space.
- Produce a collections of marketing content packages for the Girls Write Now social media.
- Create Event pages on the website using our systems in Salesforce, Zoom and WordPress.
Qualifications
Girls Write Now Interns must be a Girls Write Now mentee alumni, aged 18-25, with availability of 8-10 hours/ week.
Preferred candidates will have:
- Completed high school.
- A deep commitment to the mission of Girls Write Now.
- An interest in writing, marketing, leadership or education
- Strong communication and editorial skills.
- Strong technology, social media and platform skills (e.g., WordPress, Canva, Instagram, etc.)
- Video editing skills (iMovie, DaVinci Resolve, Premier or Final Cut) a bonus!
Compensation
We offer an hourly rate of $17- $20 per hour.
