Annaya Baynes (she/they) is excited to join the Girls Write Now team as a Fellow after being a mentee. They recently graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and French. As an undergraduate, she worked on Spelman’s social justice podcast, The Blue Record, and the reproductive justice-oriented podcast Black Feminist Rants. Annaya has interned at various publishing houses, including Penguin Random House, Macmillan, and The Feminist Press. They have a deep love for literature and film. In her free time, she enjoys baking.
Elizabeth Raquel Ramirez is a proud Hispanic actress from San Antonio, Texas. Her credits include In The Heights at Oklahoma City University and two award-winning shorts, Most Likely To and Dream Carriers. She is most known for her contribution to the HBOMax documentary Homeschool Musical: Class of 2020, produced by Tony Award winner Laura Benanti.
Ana Maria Jomolca studied Film and Creative Writing at The New School and received her MFA in Fiction at Hunter College. She’s been published in The Sun Magazine, Cosmonauts, Avenue (an online, monthly literary journal run by women and non-binary folks dedicated to elevating and amplifying underrepresented voices) New York Press, National Geographic, and Glee magazine. Her short story, “Twin Bed,” in Sisters: An Anthology is out now in bookstores. Her short film, “everygirl,” debuted at Tribeca Film Center and screened at Women in the Director’s Chair Film Festival (Chicago), The New Festival and BAM. TV appearances include: Broad City, ABC’s The Family, Orange is the New Black, 30 Rock, Flesh and Bone, DAREDEVIL, Without a Trace, The Jury (Barry Levinson /Tom Fontana), Law & Order: CI, SVU, Trial by Jury and Rescue Me.
