A poetry zine inspired by houseplants, a podcast covering the 2016 Presidential election, a website that follows the story of a band, and a choose your own adventure story — these remarkable digital initiatives were produced by the mentees in our Digital Media Mentoring Program, where they use the skills they learn in our digital workshops to create these multi-platform masterpieces. The final projects can be viewed in (R)evolution: The Girls Write Now 2016 Multimedia Anthology.
Our mentees presented these pieces at the 2016 QWERTY Digital Exhibition in June and the multimedia anthology allows their work to continue on. Projects range from personal statement videos to hard-hitting podcasts, and reveal their genre-bending writing and the new digital media skills they have learned with the help of their mentors and the program. Mentees share their process for coming up with the idea and making it come to life. Explore the stories, and relationships behind each project.
Enjoy the interactive anthology and delve into a new world of storytelling!
