Adrian Mora is a twenty year old poet, filmmaker, singer-songwriter, musician, author and aspiring activist. Born and raised in New York City, (the Bronx specifically) they aim to bring stories of the queer, Latine world they know to life. Their piece “an executioner’s testimonial” was published in Beloved: A ButchFemme Zine—Issue #03 “Flesh” in Halloween of 2023.
Artist‘s Statement
I write for the younger version of me desperately searching for affirmation and validation that their queerness was not something to be ashamed of. Shame towards my gender and sexual identity is something I’m still working on, but I’ve reached a point of self-acceptance that I never could have even fathomed when I was growing up. I write with the aim of providing comfort, solace and hope to young queer people who are in a similar position I was.
