Artist‘s Statement
A lot of what I write comes from my blurry childhood in Jamaica and the sense of displacement that comes from being a young immigrant. I often write in spoken word style that is best captured when read in my voice. I hope to continue telling stories fictionalized and otherwise based on my life experience and perspective. I write to reflect and heal from underlying issues that hinder me. I write with the purpose of one day being able to truly have the confidence that my writing voice carries.
Story
Young Bones
