Jada Fitzpatrick
Alum | Mentee
Jada Fitzpatrick is a writer before anything. Creative writing, particularly poetry is a passion of mine that she will continue to hone throughout her studies. Jada is also passionate about social justice. She is interested in understanding how creative modes of expression have been used as a means of preservation for Afro diasporic people, in turn contributing to an archive that rivals and counters the colonial archives’s vision of Black life. Ultimately Jada's plan is to open up a non profit drop-in center for homeless youth. As of now she is a community organizer at a local nonprofit that uses a Youth centered approach to organize around community specific issues such as our city’s budget and the Cops Out of Schools campaign.
