Artist‘s Statement
Letters from a Magic Fridge, aims to capture what happens when two people with completely different lives, in separate times, find each other, and help each other see the importance of staying in the present. Kai is presumed to be in present day, while Casey is in the 90’s. Despite their different upbringings, they deeply want to support each other. This piece was actually inspired by “How to Lose the Time War” by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone, by using the familiar form of epistolary writing and only these letters to convey the emotion and context of the story.
