Navya Vasireddy, a Girls Write Now mentee of two years, loves to share her experiences as an Indian-American teenager through her work, especially given the lack of representation in the media. When she is not writing, she can likely be found reading at Barnes & Noble or outside on her daily walks with her family. At Girls Write Now, Navya hopes to further explore and experiment with different genres, escaping her comfort zone as she crafts her voice and conveys her story through her writing.

My name is Navya, and I’m excited for my third year with Girls Write Now! I love to share my experiences as a Telugu-American teenager through my work, especially given the lack of representation in the media. My work reflects the issues that I’m passionate about, and my goal as a journalist is to continue elevating the diverse voices in my community. Through GWN, I hope to further explore and experiment with different genres, escaping my comfort zone as I craft my voice and convey my story.
