Girls Write Now is thrilled to honor Tomi Adeyemi, New York Times best selling author of Children of Blood and Bone (Macmillan) on Day of the Girl, ThursdayOctober 11th, 6-8PM at the DVF Studios.
Our budding friendship with Tomi began earlier this year when a group of our mentees had the pleasure of joining Tomi and Jimmy Fallon for a Q&A on the Tonight Show as a part of their Summer Reading Series. An account of that amazing evening is told by mentee Maxx Carr, a student of LaGuardia High School and fan of Tomi’s book Children of Blood and Bone. Read more on Maxx’s experience here.
“I’m honored to be recognized by an organization that’s doing so much to empower society’s young queens. The day I discovered my voice was the day I truly discovered myself and the power I could wield, so I’m absolutely thrilled that Girls Write Now helps the writers of today and the leaders of tomorrow find their voices and their power every single day.”
