Girls Write Now and Kyndryl Inspire the Next Generation of Leaders at Networking and Letter Writing Event
On December 11, 2024, Girls Write Now hosted an inspiring evening of connection and creativity with Kyndryl, the world’s largest provider of IT infrastructure services. Billed as “A Networking Event on Technology, Innovation & the Next Generation of Leaders,” the event brought together mentees, Kyndryl employees, and Girls Write Now community representatives for an evening focused on mentorship, innovation, and leadership.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Senior Community Manager Emily Rigby and an overview of Kyndryl’s exciting partnership with Girls Write Now from Monoswita Saha, Global Employee Engagement Leader & Kyndryl Foundation Advisor, and Pam Hacker, Vice President, Social Impact at Kyndryl.
Attendees then dove into a unique letter-writing exercise that encouraged them to reflect on the future of cybersecurity and art. Participants answered the prompt: In what ways do you hope the leaders of the future innovate and create in support of growth, inclusion, and safety for all? The activity sparked meaningful conversations, with attendees sharing their hopes and questions about building a more inclusive and secure future. When asked to share, mentees spoke about using technology as a tool for social good to address issues from climate change to social inequality.
Small group discussions followed, where Kyndryl employees and Girls Write Now representatives exchanged insights about their work and passions. The mentees had the chance to network, ask questions, and learn about Kyndryl’s internship opportunities and early-career programs.
A highlight of the evening was hearing from three Girls Write Now mentees—Morgan Lin, Sophia One, and Allison Su—who shared their personal experiences and discussed pressing global issues. Four more Girls Write Now participants, Megumi Jindo, Palmares Bustamante, Ilana Drake, and Kayah Hodge, asked questions related to technology and artificial intelligence via video recording. Their perspectives underscored the importance of nurturing young leaders who are equipped to tackle today’s challenges with creativity and resilience.
The evening demonstrated the power of mentorship and collaboration in preparing the next generation for a future defined by innovation and inclusion. Girls Write Now is proud to partner with Kyndryl to empower young leaders through wisdom-sharing and community.
