This community studio is an exploration into World Building. In fiction, the world that your book or novel idea exists in, is the world in which you are meant to build for yourself and your audience. In this studio, we are asking participants to explore and create the foundational fabric of a fictional world. We seek this by looking at details from existing fictional worlds, asking questions from participants’ perspective of the real world, and examining the intended purpose of the stories that they create.
How Do Characters Interact in The Thing? In this lesson, participants will be asked to explore and define the ways in which characters interact with the fictional world and each other. The exploration will be fostered by asking participants to look at interactions that exist both in media and in the real world and seeing what elements could be helpful for the interactions of their characters.
