About the Event
Wednesday, January 15 6-7 PM ET
virtual event; open to all mentees, mentors, and members
In this community studio, we’ll talk about all things voice: the elusive monster of narrative fiction. We’ll do exercises to figure out how our narrators speak and how to make each character that appears in our stories each have a distinct style, personality, vocal quirks, and -isms.
This month, we’ll discuss editing for voice, including what “close POV” means and how to achieve it in 1st and 3rd person. We’ll also do editing exercises to explore ways to make our narrators’ voices more specific.
