Meet the Studio Facilitators
Asma Al-Masyabi
Asma Al-Masyabi is a free-verse poet, visual artist, and casual writer of prose based in Colorado. She is currently pursuing a creative writing degree at the University of Colorado Denver, along with a minor in art. She’s dreaming big dreams, reading good books, while simultaneously baking chocolate chip cookies. When not experimenting in the kitchen, you can find her reading all the comics she can get her hands on and watching the next big hit her mom found on TV.
Nyilah Thomas
From the tender age of 11, Nyilah Bree Thomas always adored putting pen to paper (now thumbs to screen) anything that her mind could come up with, and she referred to this as “poetry.” Free from any and all colloquialisms, she writes for her very life. A few years later, she continues to write just about new experiences. Majoring in Social Work and minoring in Creative Writing, Nyilah plans to utilize her formal education and passion for writing when engaging with vulnerable populations within society.
