Writing 360
Do you ever wonder how screenwriters come up with all those binge-worthy shows? Well, this time it turns out that YOU are the main character! By mining your life and thinking of yourself as a character with a story to tell, you’ll never run out of ideas!
In our culminating Writing 360 workshop of the year, Naomi G. Davis—a writer for Dash & Lily, The Endgame and Splinter Cell—shares her journey as a TV writer, explains story-building, and helps us source ideas.
Mentors and mentees write about a personal experience in their lives, then share these memories in small group “writers rooms” where they will collaboratively create the next hit TV show! The workshop ends with a pitch fest! Join us to discover how your life has the potential to be a story on the screen.
A first generation American from the Bronx, NY, Naomi G. Davis was awarded the FOX TV – Benjamin Hooks and the Martin Wygood scholarships to attend and graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. After graduation, Naomi worked as a production coordinator and AP in branded content and design. Her claim to fame as an AP is coordinating the design rebrand of the NBA and a car of the future for Toyota. Naomi pivoted to scripted television as a Writers PA on THE GET DOWN and the Writers’ Assistant of the first Emmy award winning seasons of THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL. Naomi received her first credit on Netflix’s rom-com DASH & LILY and quickly followed that up with the animated action-adventure SPLINTER CELL (2023) and is currently staffed on NBC’s THE ENDGAME where she wrote episode 106 – “Judge, Jury and Executioner.”
