online event; only open to Mentees & Mentors in Publishing 360
Images and text have a long history of co-mingling. From children’s storybooks to music videos to YouTube and TikTok videos, the two media make a great team to communicate visceral stories.
In this workshop, Emma Fierberg will help you explore how to create imagery that brings nuance to the written or spoken word. Through her education in photojournalism and her professional background in digital video production, you’ll learn how to best marry word and image to convey precise emotions.
Emma Fierberg is a visual storyteller based in Los Angeles, CA. She’s produced digital video for major media outlets Business Insider/Insider Inc. and CNBC. A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Emma moved to New York City post-grad to pursue a career in digital video production. Beginning as an intern and working her way up to Producer, Emma’s had the opportunity to interview the likes of Janelle Monae, Anthony Bourdain, Ted Allen (Chopped), Dancers from NYC Ballet and ABT, Jeni Britton Bauer (Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams), members of Blue Man Group, among others. Emma has a dream of working in television/film/music videos and is actively working toward that goal as we speak.
