About the Event

Geography is destiny. Where you are is who you are. It’s easy to think of setting as a backdrop to a story, but it can be so much more. In this studio, we’ll explore how to use setting to establish a sense of place, enriching our story’s mood and enhancing our characters.

In this session, we’ll workshop turning an ordinary setting into one with a vivid, visceral sense of place. We’ll build a setting from scratch and then experiment with which details to include to illuminate character, genre, and theme without bogging down our story.https://girlswritenow.org/portal/events/community-studios/?id=a4rUX0000009w1ZYAQ&utm_source=wp-event
