Maya Nussbaum joins Kate Spade New York, Pinterest & Teen Vogue To Discuss Solutions for Combatting Youth Loneliness
At Kate Spade New York’s Global Summit on Mental Health, Girls Write Now’s Executive Director Maya Nussbaum spoke about confronting the mental health crisis, cultivating community, and nurturing youth wellness, which the organization has prioritized for nearly three decades. The summit featured activists, leaders, and cultural figures, including Simone Biles and Taraji P. Henson, and Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Versha Sharma.
The global summit was an opportunity for mental health advocates to connect across disciplines and industries. Kate Spade New York presented findings from its 2024 Impact Report on mental health integration, titled “Women and girls’ voice, choice and power”. Its conclusions, also presented at the UN General Assembly, make clear that mental health is not simply important, but foundational, to allowing girls and women to access their authentic “voice, choice, and power.”
At Girls Write Now, our holistic formula of writing, mentoring, and community is an antidote to the mental health crisis for a multi-generational community of women and gender expansive individuals.
