We had an amazing time this past weekend at our 2019-2020 program year Mid-Year Mentee Workshop! We were joined by Anne Beal, an animation artist, filmmaker, and teacher, who led us through an activity to learn stop-motion video. Mentees worked together in groups to create short films using their new animation skills, and had the chance to bond with their other pod members in doing so.
We also had Amber and Tiffany Davis of Context & Co. join us as storytelling coaches to help prepare mentees to share their work at Girls Write Now Live this spring. Amber and Tiffany will be working with mentees all spring on public speaking and presentation skills, and we’re so lucky to have them!
And a huge shout-out to Liberty Bagels for providing bagels to fuel us throughout our day. They were delicious!
What do mentees have to say about the workshop? See below for some highlights!
