This year we take storytelling to a new level at the 2021 Girls Write Now Graduation Celebration: Journeys of Hope & Love! After an incredibly challenging year, we celebrate the bright light at the end of the tunnel—our talented mentees, mentors and honorees, our generous sponsors, and the entire Girls Write Now Community—yes, you!
Our journey begins with an interactive lounge filled with Girls Write Now experiences! Along the way, watch multimedia art from today’s talented youth, and take in words of wisdom from thought leaders Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Edwidge Danticat, Tayari Jones, Meisha Porter, Solome Tibebu and Abby West. Then step in and stand clear for the first-ever Girls Write Now short titled A Passenger’s Library, performed by mentee Anaís Fernández and directed by filmmaker B. Monét. We’ll end our journey with an exclusive “Grad Bag” full of gifts from our fabulous partners! Enjoy the dazzling array of stories, performances and conversations with the next generation of writers leading the way through love, hope and resiliency.
Girls Write Now is witnessing our highest demand in over 23 years, and we are responding by leveling enormous educational inequities through extended, enriched programming. With your support, the next generation of writers and leaders is equipped with the skills and networks needed to excel in school, career and beyond.
