“…We’re firefighters, snowboarders, and activists, police officers, writers, and politicians who are pushing the boundaries every day.”
These are the words that mentee Sarane writes in her poem Generation Futureproof as part of the 2018 Girls Write Now Anthology: Generation F. Sarane said “When I started to write about Generation F, I soon realized that the people it covers are too varied for a simple word or phrase… my poem is an attempt to give this term shape, while staying true to its diversity.” Sarane and her mentor Margo, have shared many magical moments together over their past four years as a Girls Write Now mentoring pair. From discussing their writing, to reading works from other women writers, or getting to see Black Panther together on opening weekend. This pair is truly inspiring to each other, their fellow mentors and mentees, as well as and other members of the Girls Write Now community.
