Girls Write Now is partnering with Teen Voices, part of Women’s eNews, a global girl news site that “incorporates teens in the production of news about their lives,” to feature our girls’ original stories each month!
The first publication featured Charlene Vasquez’s piece on autism, followed by Rachel Aghanwa’s essay on what it means to be a young woman of color. September’s feature will launch on Wednesday, September 23.
“Teen Voices and Girls Write Now is a dream partnership,” said Katina Paron, Teen Voices editor. “Both organizations have a long history of providing young women with writing and publishing opportunities.”
Teen Voices publishes journalist pieces and first-person essays, while also providing mentoring and professional experiences to teens from around the world. Through Teen Voices, girls have a role in changing their misrepresentation and under-representation in news.
With our shared commitment to changing the culture of girls in the media, we know that this partnership will continue to elevate the voices of young women.
