Victoria Gao is a passionate writer and high school student. As a Girls Write Now mentee, she enjoys exploring different writing and multimedia genres such as science fiction and erasure poetry. She is also a writer for her high school newspaper and enjoys informing others about current events.
Artist‘s Statement
In the past year, I’ve been expanding on a world that I built for a sci-fi short story published last year in my Girls Write Now portfolio to be the foundation of a sci-fi novel that I’m writing. Through Girls Write Now workshops and research, I’ve learned about the steps in the publication process and applied what I learned to write a query letter for my sci-fi novel Spinning Genes.
