In this event, you'll think through the meaning of food and community—what food brings to community, how we connect over food, and what food means in a variety of contexts. We'll meet at the Lower East Side Girls Club for a night of charcuterie-board making, table decorating, and poetry writing!

In this day of self-care celebration, youth from across the city will have the opportunity to engage in various movement skill-challenges or join a cheer squad for the day! You'll also have the chance to chat with an Olympian and Nike Athlete! Join us for an evening of movement, fun, and food.

On our last day of self-care celebration week, youth from across the city get to engage in a TikTok challenge with the Ladies of Hip Hop, partake in Trap Yoga, enjoy a mocktail bar, and more! This event will also feature a live DJ and food and drink. We’ll meet at Nike HQ to end our self-care celebration week!

For our fifth annual STARS town hall, we'll be meeting at the Weeksville Heritage Center to talk through mental health, gun violence, metal detectors, and public transportation to school.
Join us on Wednesday, May 31st, at P&T Knitwear for an official release party to celebrate the Girls Write Now Class of 2023, listen to a selection of performances, and come together in community to witness the power of stories to change minds.
At this Summer Exploratory, you’ll learn about Girls Write Now's Collaboratory, hear from our veteran Mentors and Mentees about their GWN experiences, jump right in with some fun exercises on query letter writing led by GWN Mentor and literary agent Madeline Wallace, and learn how to apply to the Collaboratory. Plus, we’ll have a Q&A, so come with questions! We hope to see you there!
