This STARS Citywide Girls Initiative Leadership Breakfast will feature a panel discussion with Council Member Linda Lee, President of United Way Grace Bonilla, writer and activist Natalie Henry, NYC Deputy Mayor Jasmine Ray, and Nike Director Jeanette Rodriguez.

In this event, you'll think through the meaning of food and community—what food brings to community, how we connect over food, and what food means in a variety of contexts. We'll meet at the Lower East Side Girls Club for a night of charcuterie-board making, table decorating, and poetry writing!

This event will also feature a live DJ and food and drink. We’ll meet at Nike HQ to end our self-care celebration week!

For our fifth annual STARS town hall, we'll be meeting at the Weeksville Heritage Center to talk through mental health, gun violence, metal detectors, and public transportation to school.
The Sports Training and Role-models for Success Citywide Girls Initiative (STARS CGI) is a collaboration of ten leading New York City nonprofits with missions to support girls and young women of color to overcome barriers to success, grow emotionally, academically and physically stronger, and give them the tools that they need to develop as leaders in their communities.
