Each month, Girls Write Now brings you a curated writing playlist and prompt using suggestions from mentors, mentees, and staff.
December Playlist
Prompt: 2023 is coming to an end and we are all so very grateful for breath.
Write a letter to yourself from the perspective of the sun or the moon. What did they witness this year that you may not remember? What memories and joys did they get to see that your camera didnt? What would they say to you as the year comes to a close?

November Playlist
Prompt: Gratitude journaling is a helpful practice for mental well-being. Write down 10 things or people that you are grateful for. Pick one and write an ode, letter, short story, or other creative piece that shows why you are thankful.
October Playlist
Prompt: Pick a song from this playlist that inspires you to write. Free write for 10 minutes.
These songs were selected by mentors and mentees in the 2023-2024 Collaboratory.
September Playlist
Prompt: Time for a summer recap! Pick a favorite day from each month this summer (June, July, August). Choose three of the senses (touch, smell, sound, taste, or sight). Assigning one sense per month, allow your favorite day to unfold on the page relying heavily on the sense you’ve chosen for that month.
