The Joy of Networking with Macmillan: Making Authentic Connections
With Macmillan Mentors for the day by their side, Girls Write Now Mentees learned network tips to forge connections and show up as their authentic selves. Following a short networking lesson, Mentees drafted elevator pitches, then had to opportunity to work with Macmillan Mentors in small groups to take their pitches to the next level. Mentors offered valuable guidance through the lens of their own professional experiences, helping mentees realize that sometimes networking can be as simple as small talk!

At our Writing Works workshop, The Joy of Networking with Macmillan, Girls Write Now Mentees had the opportunity to flex their networking muscles as they learned how to make authentic, impactful and fun connections in a professional setting from Macmillan “Mentors for the Day.” Use these tips and tricks from Macmillan employees to help you form the relationships that could land you your dream job!

Bounce Back! Making Manga with Misako Rocks!
Manga writer and illustrator Misako Rocks! led an all-skills level welcome Manga lesson—which included drawing by hand! Misako also shared her journey as a writer and illustrator, as well as behind-the-scenes tales of her graphic novel, BOUNCE BACK, published by Feiwel & Friends, an imprint of Macmillan Publishers.
