Avelina Sanchez is a senior in high school from New York City. She runs a blog called 100% Mixed, where she writes about her experiences being a mixed-race teen and works to amplify the voices of mixed-race youth. She is also published in the magazine Mixed Asian Media and has been a Silver Key recipient in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her short story. Other than writing articles and fictional stories, Avelina loves math and performing in musicals. She’s also a fan of bubble tea, rock music, cats and true crime.
