Heidi E. Huntington (PhD, Colorado State University) is an assistant professor of business communication at West Texas A&M University. Her teaching and research focuses on the use of social media and user-generated content in the contexts of advertising, corporate communication and public participation. She earned her PhD in Public Communication & Technology from Colorado State University in 2017, with a dissertation focused on people’s cognitive processing of political internet memes’ messages. Her research has been published in the Atlantic Journal of Communication, Communication Studies, Science Communication and SAGE Business Cases. She is the 2020 recipient of the Horizon Award of the Paul & Virginia Engler College of Business.
