Isabella Japal hails from upstate New York where the air is fresh and the grass is green. She graduated from Cornell University in 2020 with a B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations, alongside working as a writing tutor and public education researcher. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City for a brief stint in finance. Not long after, she realized her destiny: to embrace creativity. Isabella remains in NYC where she works as a receptionist, dabbles in stand up comedy and is learning every day what “freedom” really means.

My work is a reflection of my inner world. It is the people I love, the people I’ve lost, the words said aloud and the secrets that I’ve kept. It is my opinions, my thoughts, ever changing and expanding. My writing is me and I hope to do more of it—to share myself and inspire others to share themselves too.
