Kaci X. Tavares
Hailing from Honolulu, Hawai’i, Kaci X. Tavares is a bilingual poet, English teacher and freelance editor. She holds degrees in English, English education and creative writing. Currently based in Washington state, she writes poetry that investigates her multicultural identity and how it affects her relationships with her languages: English, 中文 and ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi. She passionately champions literature that adds diversity to the Anglosphere’s literary canon so all students feel represented in their curriculums. You will likely find her curled up with a book, knitting a sweater for her dogs or singing Broadway show tunes in the kitchen.
