Romaissaa Benzizoune, former mentee, wrote an essay for Teen Vogue called, “My Girls Write Now Mentor Has Helped Me Far Beyond the Program’s Borders,” all about the impact her mentor has had in her life. “The GWN mentorship program is not just about writing. It is about talking, and understanding. It is about when two people so different are somehow still in tune, connected in the kind of isolated way that only writers are. The amount that my mentor and I have learned from each other is momentous. But we are one of many pairs.”
Romaissaa is also a contributor to our anthology, Girls Write Now: Two Decades of True Stories from Young Female Voices (Tin House), which can be ordered here.
