The Diary of a young girl was the first nonfiction piece I ever read and till this day it continues to resonate with me. The reason this text had such an impact on my life is because not only could I relate to the views of Anne Frank but I also felt gripped by her unwavering honesty. She didn’t shy away from the difficulty and tension of hiding in the annex, instead she uniquely gave voice to it. Furthermore, Anne Frank’s story continues to be impactful because her thoughts were not confined to people’s view of her age, something I found truly beautiful.
