9 Weeks Until My End of Year Algebra Exam – Here’s How I’ll Pass It
By Kamara Fraser
I have a big Algebra exam coming up at school so I need to get organized ASAP and study so I’m one step closer to my dream of going to medical school. Wish me luck!
Process
First, I completed a Stream of Consciousness exercise, where I didn’t stop writing for 10 minutes to see exactly what was on my mind at the time and what we could potentially use as inspiration for this piece. After I did this exercise, I had a ton of ideas. We broke apart each theme that came up in the exercise and answered a range of questions about it. From why I was interested in it to how I felt about covering it. I then had to explore 3 examples of media that I connected to and describe what it is that makes them so enjoyable to me. From this, I was able to pinpoint certain mediums that I thought worked well and that I wanted to try those out for my video. Finally, I decided that it would be in my best interest to create content that showed me studying for my upcoming algebra exam since it’s very important to me. My Algebra curriculum had a lot to cover so I created a study list and worked through it. As I studied, I recorded footage where I crossed out topics from my study list as I went to show my progress. Since completing this video, I feel prepared and ready for my exams! I’ve been feeling really nervous about these exams recently but I feel like sticking to my study schedule has definitely helped me to feel more prepared! I’m really proud of this multimedia piece because I worked hard on it. There was a lot of trial and error with different ways of editing so I’m happy to see how it all came together!
