Radical Gratitude
For two and a half decades, Girls Write Now has gratefully benefited from our champions across industries who have partnered with us to break down the barriers of gender, race, age and poverty. We are a powerhouse of voices that are being heard, and a pipeline of talent into companies that are thriving with different perspectives. It is out of radical gratitude that we gather today’s thought leaders to celebrate our great achievements and to chart a necessary and ambitious path forward.
To fundamentally shift the corporate landscape, businesses and nonprofits must work hand in hand, training and empowering new leaders with strong communication skills to succeed no matter their field or focus. We are proud to honor Grace Bastidas, Editor in Chief of Parents Dotdash Meredith; Jon Yaged, Chief Executive Officer of Macmillan Publishers; and Robert Hammer, Founder of Hammer Ventures for their trailblazing work and their unwavering commitment to Girls Write Now’s mission. And with this event, we join forces with the most influential professionals in publishing, media, tech, and philanthropy to ensure we prioritize mentoring the next generation of diverse new talent we all need.
The collective grief, anxiety and isolation of young people—combined with the daily assault on women, girls, and gender expansive young adults of color—is unprecedented. While no easy solutions, Girls Write Now is an antidote with a proven track record. This special anniversary event celebrates 25 years of transformative stories at Girls Write Now as we invest in radical growth through 2050, mounting a large scale strategic plan to expand and extend our work across over 30 states of the U.S., serving a multi-generational community that is shaping culture, impacting industries, and inspiring change.
