Nebula
By Freda Dong
A reading of the poem Nebula, accompanied by the art of Flow.
Process
This poem is a piece that I’m particularly proud of that I wrote as part of a class assignment, a lyric poetry project. I am also a part of StuyFlow in my school, a club that practices the art of flow by combining dance and movement with LED props. Flow is something I’m very passionate about and a part of me that I want to share with others, so I thought it would be cool to flow to a reading of my poem. I came up with a choreography using a LED staff, practiced it, and recorded it on a dark night in a parking lot. As my poem is about stars and the inspiration they provide for my creativity, I thought Flow would express the themes of the poem well, given that it is performed in the dark.
