Tower of Bricks
By Amy Bradu
A skit about how it feels to procrastinate shown through the allegory of standing on a tower of bricks which gets taller each minute knowing you have to jump.
Process
I came up with the allegory late one night when I was tired and unable to do all of the work sitting in front of me, as a way to represent the dread I was feeling. The individual bits came at similar times, all based on strategies I use when procrastinating like escapism or rationalization, and all built around the growing sense of dread which defined times like these. The skit was filmed and edited in my bedroom on a day that was too warm to be moving as expressively as this piece required.
